Sonia Phillips Resika’s (Fiction, June 2020) short story “Slip, Fall,” which appeared in the Winter 2021-22 issue of Ploughshares, has been nominated for for a PEN 2023 Emerging Writers Award.
Sara Levine (WFYP, January 2006) has a new picture book. Sensitive, which is under contract and will be published in Fall 2023.
Tyler Woodsmall (Fiction, June 2020) co-wrote the graphic novel Amputation Capital, to be published by TPub Comics in July, and the first two chapters can now be viewed through GlobalComix.
Andrea Wang (WFYP, June 2011) is a recipient of a 2022 Chinese American Librarians Association Best Book Award in the category of Children’s Fiction, for her picture book Watercress. It was also selected as a finalist for the Ohioana Book Awards alongside The Many Meanings of Meilan.
Tavi Taylor Black (Fiction, June 2008) is a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards for her novel where are we tomorrow?
Celeste Mohammed (Fiction, June 2016) has received the 2022 CLMP Firecracker Award in Fiction for her novel in stories, Pleasantview.
Eve Linn (Poetry) has a poem “Sack of Folded Skin My Body–” in the Summer 2022 issue of Thimble.
Mary Ann Honaker (Poetry, June 2016) won first place in the West Virginia Writers Contest in the Long Poetry category, for her poem “The Hunter’s Step.” She also has a poem “Oak” in Issue #5 of Lover’s Eye Press.
Julie Wittes Schlack (Nonfiction, June 2013) has an essay “The Trees Were Here First” in WBUR’s Cognoscenti.
Robbie Gamble (Poetry, January 2017) has two new poems out this month: “Tadpoles” in Bracken, and “Bravado” in Salamander, and also a flash nonfiction piece “Five Minutes at the Beach” in Passengers Journal.
Leland Cheuk (Fiction, June 2008) has a short story “Uncle Juicy’s America Boy” in the latest issue of Prairie Schooner.
Angelo D’Amato (Fiction, June 2020) recently published a poem, “The Silence Around Us.”
